Evelyn Vella Brincat passed away on Friday evening. She battled with cancer for the past few years. In her lifetime she was known as an avid animal lover, her love for animals led her to produce various radio programs on the subject, some of which were aired on RTK 103FM.
Vella Brincat was a founding member of Metastatic Breast Cancer Malta Support Group, a support group aimed to help people battling cancer.
She was also politically active for a number of years. During the last election she ran on the 9th and 10th districts on the Nationalist Party ticket. She was an executive member of the PN and served as the President of PN’s College of Councillors.
The Nationalist Party expresses condolences to Vella Brincat
In a statement the Nationalist Party remembered Vella Brincat for her work within the Party’s structures. She served on PN’s Administrative Council. She was elected as a Councillor on Pembroke’s Local Council and was serving as the minority leader.
The Nationalist Party said that Vella Brincat would be remembered for her gentle character and her fight for social justice and animal rights.
Various PN activists, MPs, MEPs, and officials expressed their condolences in Facebook posts.
