Former Maltese Ambassador to Libya, George Cassar, passed away. Cassar occupied this role till 2011, when he had to leave the country during evacuations. Up until three years ago, he was Malta’s representative in the African Union and the League of Arab States.
George Cassar was a lawyer. He was also an Maltese Ambassador in Egypt and Ethiopia.
Previously, he served as a legal consultant for the Maltese Corporation for Development and Chairman for Medavia and several hotels, among others.
He graduated as a lawyer from the University of Malta in 1973.
