A crowd of PN diehards estimated between 400 (official) and 200 (sources), on Thursday evening congregated at Dar Ċentrali, the headquarters of the Partit Nazzjonalista to show its support of party leader Dr Adrian Delia. Photos of Delia supporters were uploaded on the Facebook pages of Jean Pierre Debono, who is organising grass root support for Delia.

This was the latest in a number of moves by the pro- and anti- Delia factions in the party. While Debono is pressuring local committees and party sections to publish statement of support for the leader a number of members of parliament are signing a declaration asking Delia to resign.

The president of the PN Administrative Council David Stellini MP told Newsbook.com.mt that his council will be meeting on Friday or Monday to discuss the current issue in the Partit Nazzjonalista. The party leader will be attending the meeting. He described Delia as being in a “listening mode” while meeting with many people to answer their questions and address their doubts.

On the other hand Mark Anthony Sammut, president of the National Executive of the Partit Nazzjonalista told Newsbook.com.mt that no date has a yet been fixed for a meeting of the committee he chairs. Last Monday he told Newsbook.com.mt that the present situation of the party was cause of concern and that he had asked the General Secretary of the PN, Clyde Puli, to hold a meeting.
