Malta’s qualifiers for the upcoming Euro 2020 football championships have started will a strong win against the Faroe Islands, with a 2-1 victory.

The first goal came in the first 13 minutes when the 21 year old Kyrian Nwoko put Malta ahead. This was his first international goal with the national team.

The second goal came in the 77th minute when a penalty was awarded to Malta for a harsh tackle in the Faroe Islands penalty box.

Faroe Islands managed to pull one back shortly after the referee awarded 7 minutes of injury time. This grew to 10 minutes when Faroe Islands players were booked for time wasting.

Ireland were also playing tonight, winning 1-0 against Gibraltar.
